Background:

SMT3 suppressor of mif two 3 homolog 2 (SUMO2) is a member of the small ubiquitin-like modifier protein family.  It is a ubiquitin-like protein that can bind to a target protein as part of a post-translational modification.  However, instead of targeting proteins for degradation, it is involved in a number of cellular processes, such as nuclear transport, DNA replication and repair, transcriptional regulation, mitosis, apoptosis, and protein stability.  In order for SUMO2 to be active, the last two amino acids on the carboxy-terminus must be cleaved.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the full-length human SUMO2.  Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
