Background:

Inactive caspase-12 (CASP12) belongs to the peptidase C14A family and has no protease activity. It may reduce cytokine release in response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide during infections. It also reduces activation of NF-kappa-B in response to TNF. The variant Arg-125 (Csp12-L) of CASP12 may increase the susceptibility to sever sepsis, and may also increase the mortality rate in sepsis patients.

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human CASP12. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen. 

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN₃. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.
