Background:

Galactosylgalactosylxylosylprotein 3-beta-glucuronosyltransferase 1 (B3GAT1) is a single-pass type II membrane protein located on Golgi apparatus and mainly expressed in the brain. B3GAT1 is involved in protein glycosylation and the biosynthesis of L2/HNK-1 carbohydrate epitope on glycoproteins. It also plays a role in glycosaminoglycan biosynthesis. Substrates of B3GAT1 include asialo-orosomucoid (ASOR), asialo-fetuin, and asialo-neural cell adhesion molecule. B3GAT1 requires sphingomyelin for activity: stearoyl-sphingomyelin was the most effective, followed by palmitoyl-sphingomyelin and lignoceroyl-sphingomyelin.

Other Names:

B3GA1, beta-1,3-glucuronyltransferase 1 (glucuronosyltransferase P), CD57, CD57 antigen, GLCATP, GLCUATP, NK-1, LEU7, GlcAT-P, NK1, Glucuronosyltransferase P, GlcUAT-P, HNK1, UDP-GlcUA:glycoprotein beta-1,3-glucuronyltransferase, glcUAT-P, Beta-1,3-glucuronyltransferase 1, HNK-1

Source and Purity:

Rabbit polyclonal antibodies were produced by immunizing animals with a GST-fusion protein containing the N-terminal region of human B3GAT1. Antibodies were purified by affinity purification using immunogen.

Storage Buffer and Condition:

Supplied in 1 x PBS (pH 7.4), 100 ug/ml BSA, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% NaN3. Store at -20 °C. Stable for 6 months from date of receipt.

Species Specificity:

Human, Mouse

Tested Applications:

WB: 1:1,000-1:5,000 (detect endogenous protein*)
